And an excuse to talk about beautiful women…
The classy and beautiful Cate in That Certain Something is inspired (in part) by Rosamund Pike. Let me know who your favourite elegant and irresistible actress is in a comment at the end of my blog on Women and Words and I’ll add you into the draw.

Clair,
My favorite woman from film I Kate Hepburn. She is classy, a lady but knows how to hold her own. I will have to come back to London to have you show me those three sites you mentioned in your blog. I fell in love with London and a special someone a few years ago. The desire to return has not abated. Keep writing the good stuff! I loved After Mrs. Hamilton as well. π
Thank you π
which actress did you model model Pia as?
Pia was based on someone I know – looks rather than personality. The closest actress I can think of, again looks wise, is Elena Anaya:

I know I totally missed this “give-away” (and lost out on another) but I just wanted to add my two-cents and say “I loved this book!” (I special ordered it through a local bookstore). This was the first time I’ve read your work (I’m a rom-com-kinda reader–Cari Hunter’s books are as ‘intense’ as I’ll knowingly go). It was refreshing, sweet, humorous with a good (small) bit of angst. I loved the ‘secret’ gems of London. But, I hope this won’t be your one and only rom-com. And, just an odd observation/appreciation … I liked the cover’s texture it’s SO soft … sweet! (did I mention I was sensitive– emotionally and with my other senses too?!)
Oooo, good picks (Rosamund and Elena). Let’s see … classy ladies … hmmm … Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslett (modern) …Gene Tierney, Linda Darnell (love those ’40’s actresses!) ..oh I know I’ll think of many more after I log off, there are so many lovely ladies!!
Hi,
Thanks for your lovely message π
I’m glad you liked That Certain Something. It was enormous fun to write so I imagine I will write another romcom. Perhaps not straight away but I can’t see myself staying away from one for too long. BTW, Cari Hunter’s novels are excellent aren’t they, but certainly not for the too squeamish!
Glad you liked the cover too. I was very pleased with how it turned out. I think the soft finish suited the picture.
Nice choices for actresses! I hadn’t heard of Linda Darnell so it was great to hear of her. I read up on her briefly on Wikipedia – what a sad end to her life!
Thanks again for getting in contact π
